Carl and Wilma told us about their visit to a Rotary Club in Texas.
Andres was at the Middle School as we were meeting. He was speaking to the Spanish Club.
The Rotary Youth Exchange Birthday Party will be held on Friday, May 27.
Bill Moon brought up the information about a Rotary Club calendar, only to find out that the Council on the Arts is doing one and John Spencer will be Mr. September. (Does anyone remember who Mr. October is?)
A happy dollar from Laura because the Nolis’ are going to be the second host family next year.
There is a breakfast meeting this Thursday, but no Board Meeting.
Marv Fisher will be the speaker next Tuesday.
Richard introduced Les Wagner. So many people have had such interesting lives. Les was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship in 2004.
Looking up words for me is like some people with diets. It doesn’t stick as well as I would like. The following definition and comment is from The Superior Person’s Book of Words. Perhaps we will have a few words from this book in coming weeks.
ADVISEDLY adv. Deliberately, with conscious intent (of words or phrases used). Odd that it should have this meaning, since words use advisedly are almost invariably used not on the basis of advice of others but on the basis of one’s own convictions.
