President Judy Kip opened the meeting with the pledge. We then sang “America.” Laura Costello gave the invocation. Karla Johnson served as the official Greeter.

Guests:

We sang the “Greeting Song” for the guests and “Happy Birthday” to Mychael Willon (sunburned from his recent trip to Panama) who will be 50 this Friday.

Announcements:

There will be a District Assembly in Cooperstown on April 16th, a Saturday. It will be held at the Otesaga Hotel. 8:30 a.m. registration, $15 per person (paid for by the club). Lunch is $16 additional.

WSKG has asked for Rotarians to be telephone volunteers for their fundraiser on April 22 & 24. If you want to be on TV get the details from Judy.

Laura Costello thanked Carolyn Wright for handling all the correspondence relating to the recent RYLA interviews. She thanked Harry Rodgers, Matt Adler, Carolyn Wright and Wilma Betcher for serving as interviewers. There were 15 applicants for 5 slots.

Fines:

Carole LaPlante quizzed us about Tioga County. We all found that we don’t know much about our towns, county, and villages.

Program:

Judy Kip was our program leader today. She held an “It’s All About Your Table” forum.

Each table discussed the following questions and recorded the responses:

There were some lively discussions at our table. I assume the other tables also. We all learned a great deal about each other. Then we reported our answers to the group.

It was a great idea Judy. Perhaps once a month we could have a question of the day to continue learning about people at our table.

Next Week:

Our speaker will be John Shafer, former Village of Owego Major and a Paul Harris Fellow.
