Breakfast Meeting

7:30 Judy called meeting to order

Welcome to new Rotary member Mike Wold who was sponsored by John Spencer.

Guest speaker today is our new member Mike Wold. Mike is an Air Traffic Controller at the Greater Binghamton Airport. This is a very interesting job. No two days are the same, you need to be a multi-task person and be able to focus on many areas at one time to do the job of Air Traffic Controller.

Mike was on the job during 9/11 it was a scary time for everyone. It took two hours to get all the planes down on the ground in the United States.

Most dangerous flight is that of a Medical Helicopter.

(Soooo if you have an accident and are picked up by a medical helicopter your problems may continue. Think about it.) This may make more drivers a little more cautious.

Bike Tioga project has been taken over by Rotary. The date is August 13-14 this year.

Remember the third Thursday of the month 7:30 a.m. is our Board of Directors meeting at the Treadway Inn.

• Ed: Happy his grandson is ok after accident.
• Jody: Happy her son was back on base last Friday. Also her father is going to be 77 years old.

• Judy’s husband Rob is happy to be at the meeting instead of work.
• Priscilla’s husband Bob is happy to be here and not at work also.

• John: Happy to see the presentation of projects Rotary has done.
• Orv: Shared a airplane story. A young boy (10 or 11 years old) sitting across the aisle from Orv and one engine goes out the young boy started to scream we are going to DIE!!! Orv then kindly pointed out that with one engine gone we are ok. However, if the second engine goes you are going to DIE!
